Same sex marriage can’t be really accepted in Indonesia for several reasons. Firstly, the government of Indonesia could not accept same sex marriage. The Ministry of Religious Affairs (Government) consistently implements the constitution not to serve same-sex marriage referring to the Marriage Act. This consistent attitude of not providing same-sex marriage services was conveyed by Minister of Religious Affairs Lukman Hakim Saifuddin during a Limited Meeting discussing the existence of LGBT in Indonesia with the Presidential Advisory Council led by members of the presidential advisory council KH. Hasyim Muzadi in Jakarta, Wednesday (18/2/2016). In addition, same sex marriage is also restricted and sinful in most religions in Indonesia. Most of the religion in Indonesia believe that same sex marriage is a sin, In Islam where same-sex marriage usually aims at the satisfaction of lust or in Arabic termed liwath. This act was condemned by Allah and the Prophet (SAW). According to Ahmad’s hadith which contains Allah condemning the actions of people who do acts like the luth, in this context the luths are LGBT. Therefore, all scholars agree on the prohibition of this deed. In other religions, such as Christian, the Bible condemns homosexual/same-sex relationships as immoral and unnatural sins in Leviticus 18:22 showing same-sex sex as an abomination, a disgusting sin. Romans 1:26-27 declares homosexual lust and inter-same-sex acts to be shameful, unnatural, lustful, and indecent. 1 Corinthians 6:9 states that homosexual couples are not right and will not receive the inheritance of the kingdom of Allah.) However, some people speak up on a lot of social media for LGBT rights. They believe that LGBT people have human rights like other societies so there is no need to be discriminated against because of sexual deviance. For example there is Anggun C.Sasmi as a senior Indonesian singer who went international, who also did not miss out on providing support for the LGBT movement by tweeting "Marriage is between love and love”. Then there is also from a Bandung-born singer, Sherina Munaf, to become one of the figures of Indonesian artists who are pro-same-sex marriage movement and the rights of the LGBT community. "Banzai! Same sex marriage is now legal across the US. The dream: next, world! Wherever you are, be proud of who you are. #LGBTRights," he tweeted on June 28, 2015. As we could see there are a lot of pros and cons out there, probably the best solution you could get is by visiting any psychologist or psychiatrist.
